There is no better time than now to get your first suppressor. With $0 tax stamps and a wide variety of high-quality suppressors to choose from, I’m sure we’ll see record numbers of Form 4s processed.
It was only a few months ago that I got my first two suppressors, one of which was the BANISH 45 from Silencer Central.
The number one feature I was looking for was compatibility across multiple calibers. I also wanted it to be lightweight and, of course, provide some serious sound suppression.

You can likely guess where I’m going with this, as the BANISH 45 checked all of my boxes. Now that I’ve spent so much quality time with it behind pistols and PCCs, I’m happy to say that my suppressor obsession has officially been kicked into high gear.
This is where I wish I had thought ahead, but I was so excited when I learned Silencer Central would be providing the suppressor for this review (huge shoutout to them!) that I simply ordered it and never looked back.
Upon opening the box, you’ll find the suppressor itself and a .578×28 piston. This makes complete sense, given it’s the BANISH “45” and not “9”, but I mainly planned to shoot it on 9mm firearms, so I had to go ahead and order a 1/2×28 piston and a fixed barrel spacer (again, my fault for not).
Picking up the BANISH 45 out of its box, my first thought was how light it was. Made from Titanium, it keeps the weight low without sacrificing durability.
Even in the long configuration, it weighs in at only 11 ounces.

Since it’s user-serviceable, I wanted to see how easy it was to disassemble, so I quickly took it apart and found that, even for a beginner, it was very simple.
Once it was back together, the first firearm I mounted it on was a Strike Arms pistol build (Glock 19 clone), and I was pleasantly surprised by how well balanced it still felt with the full-length suppressor on the front.

At the range, I wanted to test heat dissipation, sound reduction, and accuracy, so I brought a mix of range, defensive, and subsonic ammo, along with several magazines.
I couldn’t help but start with the subsonic Hornady ammo, and I was immediately impressed. I didn’t have any fancy tools to measure sound reduction, but man, those rounds were quiet coming out!
If I hadn’t been at an indoor range with other shooters, I definitely wouldn’t have had to wear ear protection. After all, that is the point, right?

What also stood out to me most was how flat my pistol was shooting, even with the full-length configuration attached.
It was well-balanced, and within the 7-20 yard range, my accuracy even seemed to improve a bit.

Through a single mag dump, the suppressor remained cool enough to remove, but after another, it was just a touch too hot.
Maybe I’m just a baby when it comes down to it, but that’s also not uncommon after a couple of rapid-fire magazines.

Once my fixed barrel spacer was delivered, I also ran the BANISH 45 on my Springfield Kuna. Same results as expected, and it honestly makes me never want to shoot the Kuna without it!

What I appreciate most about the BANISH 45 is its versatility. Being able to run everything from .22LR to .45 ACP is great for those of us who don’t have dedicated cans for every firearm we own.
Of course, I would love dedicated cans for every firearm, but I’m not sure my wallet would appreciate it.

As I mentioned earlier, Silencer Central made the suppressor user-serviceable, which is another of my favorite features. It disassembles in 30 seconds, and you can change the length during the process to best suit your needs.
If you’re in close quarters such as clearing rooms or home defense, you may want to opt for the shorter 6.7” configuration, which consists of 8 baffles vs. the full 12.

Last but not least, Silencer Central backs it with a lifetime warranty, not only against manufacturing defects but also against damage caused by normal use.
With a pricey accessory like this, that peace of mind is worth its weight in gold.
I honestly never wanted to jump through the hoops of getting a suppressor (I know it’s a lame excuse), but I knew it was only a matter of time before I gave in.
However, with Silencer Central, there weren’t really any hoops to jump through as they make the entire process smooth and painless. For anyone who’s dealt with NFA items before, you know the paperwork and logistics can feel overwhelming.
Silencer Central walks you through each step, handles the paperwork, sends a fingerprint kit to your home, and keeps everything organized from start to finish. The communication was clear, the process was streamlined, and there was never any confusion about what was happening next.
At the end of the process, the suppressor gets sent straight to your door once everything is approved. For first-time buyers especially, this level of support is a game-changer. I wish I had done this a VERY long time ago.
It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this suppressor, as it met or exceeded all of my expectations. I’ve already started thinking about ordering a second BANISH 45 to keep a select couple of my firearms constantly suppressed.

If you’re in the market for a suppressor, this suppressor definitely deserves a spot on your shortlist. Plus, Silencer Central makes the process easy and painless, delivering straight to your doorstep. What more could you ask for?
As always, stay safe, train hard, and have fun.
